Instant Memories: El Palomar
By Sergio Camalich
After visiting every building in the beautiful mayan site of Uxmal(or so I thought), I was ready to leave.
As I started walking to the exit with my pal Rolando, he noticed a small road covered by trees which we hadn’t seen before and despite our feet being tired as hell, we decided to explore a little bit more.
Luckily, we weren’t disappointed and we quickly came around the gorgeous structure of El Palomar—a long wall of repeating pattern, with a beautiful reddish color along its walls and a lonely door that lead into the wild jungle behind it.
It was hidden, unkept and quite raw. A combination I couldn’t help but love.
