Mardin, Turkey

Travel More!

By Sergio Camalich

Inspired by the eerie streetlights of Mardin, I created this light paint self-portrait after a couple of days of getting lost around the maze formed by its narrow alleys, under the shadows of centenarian rock-made buildings and the plains of Mesopotamia as a background.

Shot with the help of my tripod, a headlamp and lots of patience, the message on the wall echoes a small paragraph I’ve had jumping constantly in my mind for several days:

“Sometimes, it might seem like I’m lost. But how can I be? Since I have no set destination; each new place—a revelation. Travel far, travel wide, travel more.”
