Travel Diary #03

By Sergio Camalich

Every two weeks I’ll be publishing little excerpts from my travel diary to show a little bit more of what I live every day. These are taken from October 1 through 15.

October

01
Drinking beer by the pink waters of La Colorada is one of the highlights of this journey, so far.

02
Almost no air inside the completely covered cenotes of Cobá. Not a good place for claustrophobics.

03
There’s something about making a fire that brings out your inner caveman. UNGA UNGA!

04
I’m gonna miss all these wonderful Yucatán cantinas.

05
I didn’t had high hopes for Chichén Itzá, but it still was a pleasant surprise to discover that it is better that what I expected.

06
I’m in love with this sudden chef skills I discovered and everyone seems to enjoy what I do.

07
The rain has been messing with us for the last couple of days. Hopefully it’ll be better tomorrow.

08
Today was the day that will be known for the rest of my life as “The Perfect Day in Holbox Island”.

09
Travellers mourn the loss of friendships and awesome places just long enough to reach the next destination and move on.

10
My heart jumped out of my chest as soon as I saw her.

11
We arrived early to the festival and I slowly found all my friends. So much joy!

12
What is happening to my bladder?! I had to go like 432342 times today.

13
Today I went back to my old apartment and—for the first time—I feel like a guest.

14
After today, I truly believe I’d make a great Tour Guide.

15
I think they noticed my drunkenness. What did you expected after having heaps of beer, mezcal and rum?

Where next?
